Daikin Comfort Technologies North America, a leading manufacturer of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, has worked with Energy Performance Solutions, a long-term coating project vendor to Daikin, and our CoilSafe coating product for a project involving 60 mini split coils in New Jersey. This project met and exceeded the customer's requirements and underscores the long-standing relationship between EPS and Daikin, built on a history of successful collaborations and EPS's commitment to providing high-quality solutions that don't compromise Daikin's warranties.
CoilSafe: Enhancing Performance and Longevity
CoilSafe is a specially formulated coating designed to protect HVAC coils from corrosion, mold, and "dirty sock syndrome," a common issue where mildew accumulates on the indoor unit's coil, emitting unpleasant odors. CoilSafe repels moisture, dirt, and contaminants by creating a hydrophobic barrier, promoting cleaner operation and improved efficiency. A History of Collaboration and Proven Results
The partnership between EPS and Daikin goes back to early 2010 when EPS first introduced its coil coating products to Daikin Distributor HTS. This initial interaction blossomed into ongoing projects, demonstrating the effectiveness of EPS's solutions.
Over the years, EPS has fostered a strong relationship with Daikin, including:
2014: Presentations made at the AHR Expo to Daikin's product support head and technical director, followed by continued discussions.
Late 2021: Introduction to warranty support supervisor Josh Barr, who was seeking solutions for corrosion and dirty sock syndrome. EPS provided product information and initiated their first project with Daikin.
Since late 2021: EPS has undertaken numerous projects directly with Daikin factories and been referred to distributors across the USA by Daikin's warranty team.
2021: EPS's ThermalBlock coating helped Daikin solve a heat abatement issue for a Microsoft facility in Phoenix, Arizona, preventing unit shutdowns due to extreme temperatures.
2021: EPS's CoilSafe coating addressed corrosion problems on circuit boards of ocean-side HVAC units, extending their lifespan and establishing an ongoing service for Daikin.
2022: Collaboration with Josh Barr, now Daikin's Technical Director, to secure a factory letter confirming that EPS coatings won't void Daikin warranties.
2023: A meeting between EPS and Daikin's Quality Control Director facilitated by Josh Barr to explore further implementation of EPS solutions. Multiple coil coating projects have been completed under the Quality Control Director's orders.
2024: Daikin issued a vendor number to EPS, streamlining future project orders and enabling higher volume collaborations.
Looking Ahead: A Mutually Beneficial Partnership
Daikin's choice to highlight CoilSafe for the New Jersey project exemplifies the trust built between the two companies. EPS's commitment to quality and Daikin's dedication to customer satisfaction pave the way for a future of continued collaboration, ensuring exceptional performance and longevity for Daikin's HVAC systems.
